Rose Bay II

This residence expresses a balance between solidity and softness, framing contemporary living through sculptural forms and a restrained material palette.

Sitting behind a substantial street fig tree on the street frontage, the form is defined by curved upper-level bagged brick forms that recess above a horizontal board-formed concrete parapet.

The façade composition plays with light, form and depth – the elliptical columns and transverse arches present an organic rhythm and shadow, contrasting with the linear horizontality of the structure. Native coastal
planting reinforces the connection to place, creating a dialogue between architecture and environment.
