South West Rocks

Coastal urbanism in the Mid North Coast, a significant gateway site, marks the entry to the South West Rocks town centre.

The entry to the Rocks is marked by a curved balcony form that turns the corner and sets up a rhythm of concrete hooded balcony forms, horizontal banding, sharp shadows, screened recesses and active shading elements.

A good urban outcome in achieved by the ground floor level housing the Local Library and Community Centre. Three levels of Apartments surmount the podium with rooftop terraces and views to Trial Bay to the East and the Macleay River to the West.
